Adopt-A-Precinct

Do you belong to an organization or company looking to serve the community and raise money?

If so, consider the Adopt-A-Precinct program, a public/private partnership. Use this as a fundraiser to benefit your group or designated charity. It’s also a great team building experience.

Each participating organization “adopts” a precinct or portion of a precinct for an election cycle by providing the staff for their precinct on Election Day. The money earned may be used for your group or donated to the charity of your choice. Find out more about it in our Adopt-A-Precinct brochure.

What qualifications do we need?

The Supervisor of Elections Office is committed to employing highly skilled, competent, and above all, customer service oriented individuals to fulfill its mission of conducting fair, efficient, and secure elections for the voters of Clay County.

To be eligible to participate in the program, each participant must be:

· A registered voter in Clay County

· Able to read, write, and speak English

· Attend training, as required by law

· Have an email and internet access

Additional qualifications include:

· Remain non-partisan while at the precinct

· Be able to lift approximately 35 lbs.

· Normal vision and manual/physical dexterity

· Deal with the public in a courteous, patient, and effective manner

· Sustain long periods of sitting & standing during the 14-hour day

How much money can we raise?

Each precinct has a staff of at least six Election Workers. The starting pay for an Election Worker is $195.00, so your group can plan on making around $1,000.00 each election.

Which precinct would we be assigned?

We recognize that groups may have a preferred area, so there are precincts throughout the county available to be adopted.

What about training?

The Elections Office provides the required training along with all the supplies and equipment for the precinct. To lessen the disruption to your business operations, training will take place at various hours at the Supervisor of Elections Training Center in Green Cove Springs.
